Cristina Kit Navarro

Cristina Kit Navarro has performed locally and internationally in recital, oratorio and opera that includes Biel, Basel and Baden Theaters of Switzerland, San Diego Opera, Los Angeles Opera, El Paso Opera, Long Beach Opera and Opera Pacific. Notable roles she has done were Queen of the Night, Olympia, Adina, Nerina, Najade and Clorinda, Sisa and Maria Clara. The Orange County Register describes her as “the gifted soprano whose effortless production and lustrous, satiny tone were angelic…A coloratura specialist that harvested special applause”, according to the Badener Tagblatt. Her guest appearances include  Stadtorchester  Solothurn, Children’s Orchestra Society of New York, Pacific Symphony, Pacific Chorale, Long Beach Camerata Singers, Kalamazoo Symphony in Michigan, Corona del Mar Baroque Festival and the Filipino Artist Series among others. She has sung for the films Click, Lady in the Water and Jake Heggie’s Choral Opera: The Radio Hour with Susan Graham. She has joined the West Coast tour of Lord of the Rings with the Munich Symphony Orchestra and has done back- up vocals for Andrea Bocelli and Reba McEntire. Kit  has joined Pacific Chorale in its tours of Europe and Phillip Glass’ 80th Birthday celebration at Carnegie Hall. A first prize winner in the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA), she was also a recipient of the Migros Genossenschafts- Bund study grant and a first prize winner in the Elvira Luthi Wegmann Vocal Competition in Switzerland. A former member-soloist of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, Kit currently sings as staff singer of the Grammy Award winner Pacific Chorale, Meistersingers and Our Lady Queen of Angels Church.
