Even Brock

EVEN BROCK (they/them) is a bass and choral conductor from Barrington, Rhode Island. Even has just completed a Bachelor’s degree in music at Yale, where they developed a passion for conducting and early music. During their undergraduate years, they sang in the Yale Glee Club, the Yale Schola Cantorum, the Yale Recital Chorus, many church choirs, and two baroque operas. Even is a former student conductor of the Yale Glee Club, a co-founder of YUCC (Yale Undergraduate Chamber Choir), and finished their senior recital in conducting last fall. This August, Even will travel to Ohio to pursue a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Even is a two-time choral fellow of both Spoleto Festival USA and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. They’ve also attended the Amherst Early Music Festival, Northwestern Bach Academy, and SMTD Choral Conducting Symposium. They often work as a theatre camp counselor in Rhode Island over the summer.

Even’s favorite composers include Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, Reena Esmail, Arvo Pärt, and J.S. Bach. Their biggest hobbies outside of music are board games, video games, and cooking. Their favorite fruit is passion fruit, their favorite color is salmon pink, and their favorite drink is Diet Dr. Pepper.

This is Even’s first time singing with LALÒ, and they are so grateful for the opportunity to sing with this fabulous choir!
