Florimae Salandanan

FLORIMAE PAIMALAN SALANDANAN is a lifelong music enthusiast and proud alumna of the University of Santo Tomas, where she sang with the acclaimed UST Singers from 2014 to 2023. More than just a performer, she served as the Head of the Music and Archive Department and Trainee Head, contributing to the preservation of the ensemble’s legacy while mentoring new members. During her time with the group, she took part in numerous local and international concert tours and represented the Philippines in three international choral competitions in Italy, Germany, and Austria—experiences that deepened her passion for cultural exchange through music.

For her, music is about more than just notes and harmony; it’s about connection. Whether performing in grand concert halls or in small community venues, she found joy in sharing stories and emotions that transcended language and borders.

Beyond her musical pursuits, she is a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian and holds a Master’s in Health Professions Education. After completing her studies, she came full circle by returning to her alma mater as a college instructor at the UST College of Education. There, she integrated her passion for teaching with the same heart and dedication she brought to choral performance.

Florimae continues to apply the lessons she learned in both music and academia—discipline, teamwork, empathy, and joy—into everything she does. For her, music and teaching are not separate paths but parallel ways to uplift, inspire, and serve others.
